The Patron window is the main interface used in Theatre Manager. To open the patron window there are two techniques you may use

Patron Information
Patron # The Patron # field displays a unique number assigned to the patron when they are added to the database. This is the Patron's account number. It can be printed on correspondence, tickets, receipts, or used to locate an account in the database. A patron with a lower patron number has been in the database longer than a patron with a higher number. Salutation Salutation is a pull down field used to enter a salutation. You may type directly into the field or select the downward pointing arrow to produce a list of values. Values may be added to the list using the Salutations Tab in Code Tables. Name This consists of three separate fields. The First name field, the Initial field and the Last name field. The First name field is used to enter the patron's first name. The Initial field is used to enter the first letter of the patron's middle name. The Last name field is used to enter the patron's last name. When insertinga new patron, you can type first, middle and last name of the patron in the First name field. Theatre Manager will automatically move the middle initial and last name in to their respective fields.
Name Suffix Pull down field to add a suffix to the patron name. Suffix's can be edited in the Name Suffixes Tab in Code Tables. Company The Company field is used to enter the patron's company. Title The Title field is used to enter the patron's title. Home # The patron's home telephone number. Theatre Manager will automatically format the telephone number by adding brackets and a hyphen if they are not entered. A default area code can be displayed when adding new patrons using the Data Edits Tab tab in Default Data. Work The patron's work telephone number. An additional sequence of numbers can be entered to record an office extension at the end of the telephone number. Theatre Manager will automatically format the telephone number by adding brackets and a hyphen if they are not entered. A default area code can be displayed when adding new patrons using the default Data Edits Tab in Default Data. Fax The patron's home or work fax telephone number. Theatre Manager will automatically format the telephone number by adding brackets and a hyphen if they are not entered. Other Another home, work, cellular, mobile telephone number or E-mail address can be entered to contact the patron. There is no automatic formatting performed on this field. Address The two address fields are available to enter the patron's address. City The city or town for the address provided. To assist in quickly adding a patron, a default city can be displayed when adding new patrons Province or State The province or state where the city is located. To assist in quickly adding a patron, a default province or state can be displayed when adding new patrons using the Data Edits Tab in Default Data. The screen is able to display either "Province" or "State". The tab name "Province" or "State" may be renamed in the Appearance section of Setup, Default Data. Country The country where the province or state is located. To assist in quickly adding a patron, a default country can be displayed when adding new patrons using the Data Edits Tab in Default Data. Postal Code or Zip Code The Postal Code or Zip Code field records the patron's postal identification number. Postal codes format automatically to capital letters. Zip codes format automatically to add hyphens when 9 numbers are entered. Edit checks warn if numbers or letters are entered incorrectly. The screen is able to display either 'Postal Code' or 'Zip Code'. The tab name "Postal Code" or "Zip Code" may be renamed in the Appearance section of Setup, Default Data. This field displays the E-mail address of the patron. By clicking on the letter iconbeside the E-mail address your E-mail program will start up and open a new letter addressed to that patron. This button is not active if there is not an email address.
Two patrons cannot have the same email address.
Enable the Prefer emails as html flag if the patron prefers to receive email as html.Html emails allow you to preset the fonts, colors and spacing, as well as add images, to make more pleasing email, rather than just plain text. You can alter your emails prior to sending them in the WebPages directory, which resides in the same directory as your database.
Some patrons might not prefer html email, since it often takes longer to load than plain text.
