Inserting Promotions

1. Open the Sales Promotions Window

   Click Here to learn how to access the window.

2. Click the Insert Button

   This will open the Promotion Code Detail Window.

3. Enter the description of the promotion

   Be as descriptive as possible to allow for easy recognition by all users.

4. Enter the dates which the promotion is effective through

   Use this function if the promotion is "for a limited time". Theatre Manager will automatically disable the promotion once the time period has elapsed.

5. If you are using thermal ticket printers select the ticket face to use

   This allows you to print an extra ticket for the promotion. This could be used if the promotion is for a post show party. The second ticket would be used to admit a patron to the party.

6. If this promotion requires a coupon at door, enable the flag.
   
   
7. Select the ticket type to which the promotion applies
   
   
8. Enable sale of tickets with this promotion via the Box Office and/or the Internet
   
   
9. Enter a Letter value for the Report Subtotal Group.
   
   This letter will allow you to create custom reports and customize tickets faces based on assigned groups.
   
   
10. Enter a Letter value for the Map Display Letter.
    
    This letter will appear on a seat sold under this promotion on a reserved seating map, if this option is selected in Default Data.
    
    
11. Enter the promotion discounts

    This can be either a straight cash discount or a percentage of the "regular price".

12. Enter the promotion markups

    This can be either a straight cash markup or a percentage of the "regular price".

13. Enter what you would like to round the ticket to

    This function rounds the ticket price before ticket fees.

14. Add any ticket fees

    The fees can be added directly into the fields or selected from the pulldown menu.

15. Enter what you would like the final ticket price rounded to

    This function allows you to limit the change you will need to provide to patrons. If you set rounding to the nearest 0.25. Theatre Manager will automatically round the ticket price to the nearest quarter.

16. Select which calculation option you would like to use

17. Use the sample calculator to modify your rounding
    
    
18. Click OK

    The new promotion will be saved and displayed in the Sales Promotions Window. Clicking Cancel will abort the insertion of the promotion.
