Version 7.17.04

This version is required in order to do year end rollover as a number of issues have been addressed in this area, especially for volunteer and marketing statistics. Performance has been improved as well for large databases.

There have also been the usual number of enhancements and fixes in response to user requests. We are having fun doing these in version 7.

Key changes:

Volunteer statistics are calculated properly when history is edited
Year End Rollover now does all fields in the marketing record
Event screen has been made a little more real time
GL window can now handle dragging of GL details from other windows to support quick creation of partial reversing entries
Ability to specify holds that other outlets can release

Before upgrade	Read the release notes for any version prior and follow the directions Stop web sales and close all shopping carts. Complete your end of day. Deposit all funds, create all sales entries and post to the GL. Verify the database using data utilities and ensure that everything is ok. Make a backup copy of the database

7.17.00 Changes & Enhancements (Dec 28)

Fetching Data: The count of records being fetched is now displayed accurately for the final 10% of the records being fetched. Previously, it would be incorrect if you were fetching more than 500 records.

Outlet: Fixed a small issues where totals in the marketing records were being accumulated across outlets.

Outlet: Added the ability to specify which holds (in your outlet) may be released by people in other outlets on your behalf. Normally, this might only be wheelchair seats.

Volunteer: all totals are now being calculated properly. This affects: hours in each position for past 5 years, count of history records, last event, total hours, recognized hours and last year.

Volunteer: fixed the security on the window to use the proper ones from the employee record

Volunteer: added a new security option for managing volunteer time availability

Marketing data: all totals are now being calculated properly. This affects: hours in each position for past 5 years, count of history records, last event, total hours, recognized hours and last year.

Year End Rollover: now runs completely without any SQL errors

Year End Rollover: the rollover of the marketing information has been re-written to take outlet data into account

Year End Rollover: performance has been improved dramatically as most of the work is now done at the SQL server.

Patron: the donation tab now shows the total donations from the marketing records for the past 7 years

Patron: the volunteer tab now shows the total volunteer hours from the past 5 years as well as the total hours

Auto Updater: Some changes have been made to correct how it works on Windows Platform

Database Access: an attempt has been made to fix the very rare 'statement cancelled' message on the Windows Platform. This might only occur after a lot of database activity over a long time.

Events: increased the size of the enabled/disabled promotion field for those venues with lots of sales promotions

Events: verify of tickets now correctly identifies issues that existed in version 6 prior to conversion for reserved seating events

Events: verify of tickets now takes events off sale prior to doing the verify. You will need to put events back on sale after you are done.

Events: clicking on the G/L tab now rereads the total event sales so that it will show the proper balance if sales have been occurring in the meantime. This makes this window able to work in more real-time with events on currently on sale instead of being used for past event reconciliation as intended.

Accounting: You can now drag GL details lines from any place onto an unposted General ledger window. This will create offsetting entries in that GL window so that you can edit them easily. Places where this works is dragging GL's from play & dates window (to move from deferred to earned for example), other GL entries, account GL tab, etc.

Security: changed some of the descriptions and categories on the 'data' and 'function' descriptions on the employee window to better highlight those that deal with credit cards.... just to make sure that they are more readily identifiable.

Misc: changed a number of fields in the system so that they scroll when text is typed into them and where the text is too long for the field

Company Preferences: Added timeout for pinging the SMTP email server to see if it is there prior to sending emails. Default is 2 seconds.

Misc: a number of other little fixes throughout Theatre Manager

7.17.01 Changes & Enhancements (Dec 28)

Outlet: Fixed display issues for code tables that are common to all outlets

Employee: Fixed issue where changing the employee access code would generate an SQL error if you are changing yourself.

Auto Updater: fixed issue that affects Windows platform only. Now, updating on any platform will cause all platforms to self update.
