Downloading an Update

  1. Read about downloading files if you have never retrieved a file from the Internet.
  2. Start Theatre Manager, log on as a master user and follow the steps below

      Window Platforms
      Step A: Log into Theatre Manager as Master User
      Step B: Go to the Setup menu
      Step C: select About Theatre Manager

      Macintosh Platforms
      Step A: Log into Theatre Manager as Master User
      Step B: Go to the Apple menu
      Step C: select About Theatre Manager

  3. Click on the button called 'Updates'
  4. you will be asked if you want to download via web browser.

Installing an Update **

  • You can download the update at any time. However, only install the update if the box office is closed or it is a dark day. Some upgrades can take longer than others.
  • Read about the changes in the current release to see if they are of use to your venue and what preparation may be required
  • Before installing any update, always make a backup of your program and database.

8.04 This version introduces a number of features for course and class tracking, new reports, patron duplicate tracking, a new search feature for 'belongs to mail lists' and a number of usability enhancements requested from recent training sessions.
8.00 This is a major release that includes PABP certification, significant database performance enhancements, web statistics measurement and 50+ new features or enhancements. Please review the release notes in entirety. This release will require Arts Management updating your system remotely.
7.36 Added the ability to sort the list of items in a 'merged row' in the word processing document. This means you can control the order that the table in a form letter appears. Also added the ability to renew a pass from the order window. Also fixes a problem with the save button being unresponsive in some situations.
7.34 Adds pictures to the patron record and the ability to mark the patron as 'cash only'. Numerous little fixes everywhere.
7.32 Adds printing of raffle tickets, improvements to form letter merging, a key fix to web sales apache module for load conditions and a complete revision to the interface (toolbars and tab panes) for leopard compatibility.
7.29 Performance improvements in 'Manage Favorite Seats', the searching of events, ticket sales when using large graphic maps, and online sales performance in the search for events.
7.27 A number of enhancements - and improvements such as additional debugging capabilities in the web listener to assist a web page designer decide which pages to change. There is the ability to segregate responsibility for depositing of credit cards and other payment methods .. and more.
7.26 Added permanent logging of web activity to a local directory on the listener. Implement PAPB 'nag' screen to remind users to be aware of Visa security guidelines (occurs once per major upgrade). Fixes to Form letter info window to stay on top (and more). Enhancements to events and dates for performance creation, printing reports in context sensitive manner. Improvement in the pass redemption processes and more.

7.06 Re-implemented the Patron statistic record tracking in Theatre Manager. Changed the database connection management so that intermittent 'in a transaction' failures that occurred on Windows should be gone. Added support for BOCA IP printers, added new fields for event notes and theatre name to simplify web sales management processes - and a lot more. Refer to the release notes.
7.05 Contains improvements to Canadian Tax receipt printing, on sales date for web sales, setting generic ticket holds, outlet fixes, encryption and a number of other small enhancements to the user experience as we notice things.
7.03 This is the first public release of version 7 at selected venues. Since it is a complete re-write of Theatre Manager, the features and enhancements are in the hundreds, both big and small. The key features are conversion to a true SQL database, re-architecting and simplifying the web listener processes, ability to run true 24x7 with no outage, live database backups, redundancy options, major improvements in the enterprise and outlet editions .... and much much more.
